DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro installation

DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro is extremely simple to use and special training is not required. It is lightweight, and even the professional roll size of 2,3m x 22,5m long is not difficult to handle.

Step 1: Prepare the soil and rake if necessary
Make sure that there are no more weeds present on the site before laying DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro. If perennial weeds are present, remove them by using an herbicide.
A suitable period of time should be left between application of the herbicide and the laying of DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro, during which the top growth should be strimmed off and removed.

Step 2: Roll out DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro over the site
For large areas, overlap the DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro lengths by at least 10 cm to prevent weed growth along the edges.
The joins can be stapled or pegged if necessary.

Step 3: Large unplanted areas
On large unplanted areas weigh the DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro down with stones or with the new plants to ensure that no movement occurs whilst planting through.

Step 4: Cut an “X” shape in the DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro
Use sharp scissors or a knife, and cut either over an existing plant or at the position where the new plant is to go.

Step 5: Existing or new plants
Work the DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro gently over existing plants or plant through with new ones.

DuPont™ CocoMat™ Pro does not need to be covered, since the product is already covered by the coconut fibre layer.
